#23 Google maps will give you step by step instructions for how to use public transit
The first time I used this feature was in Rome which was arguably the least ideal place to try my hand at city busses. Not knowing the map of the city makes it easier to mess up which direction on the line you want and Rome is not exactly famous for organization.
I messed up a lot. But it made me more confident when I tried out this feature in American cities. I’ve used it to get around in cities that were new to me like Oklahoma City and NYC as well as in places where I knew the map, like Milwaukee.
Input your destination and choose transit instead of driving or walking and it will give you multiple options for which lines to take. And if you download the map ahead of time, you’ll be able to use it even if your phone isn’t getting service.
